Pre-school: Principles and Policies

Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage which is a mandatory format for early years provision and is used by Ofsted as the basis for their inspections.

The EYFS sets the standards for development, learning and care of children from birth to aged 5. All early years providers are required to following the revised framework from 2012.

By following the EYFS strategy we ensure every child gets the support they need to reach their potential and develop both physically and mentally.

An EYFS Parent Pack can be obtained upon request.

Key Person System

Each child is allocated a key person who takes responsibility for the paperwork regarding that child. Your child’s key person carries out routine observations of their activities and development. This enables us to keep up to date records of your child’s progress.

Parents’ meetings are held regularly and these observations help us discuss your child’s achievements and requirements with you.

Children with Additional Needs

We are happy to discuss individual circumstances. If your child needs additional help please do not hesitate to ask. All discussions will be carried out in complete confidence

Policies

Pre-school policies cover all aspects of the running of the setting and govern how the Pre-school is run on a day to day basis.

These detail regulations and guidelines to both staff and parents and can be obtained upon request.
